Doctor Q&A

.

What made you want to become a chiropractor?

After graduating and pursuing a career in sales, Dr. Booe injured his neck by sleeping wrong. He reached out to a high school friend who had become a chiropractor. Her care made such an impact that Dr. Booe was amazed.

Chiropractic was a field that he was unfamiliar with, but it made the perfect connection between his interest in sports, the human body, and helping people in general. After working a 9-5 and traveling to various U.S. cities, he felt unfulfilled. However, his realization led to him enrolling at Logan College of Chiropractic in 2010.

Why were you interested in becoming a chiropractor?

The chiropractic field is a broad one focusing on small subsections of the population, and utilizing various techniques and strategies of care. Dr. Booe always saw the value in chiropractic but in conventional medicine as well.

His idea was to treat people using both and referring as necessary to produce the best and fastest as well as safest solution. No programs, no memberships, a provider that cares and helps the patient obtain results as quick as possible. This idea led to him practicing chiropractic and partnering with a nurse practitioner as well as a massage therapist to provide all options for his patients.

How can chiropractic care help an individual?

Chiropractic is a broad field helping many groups of people, but it can be divided into two broad categories: Pain relief and preventative medicine. Many people’s first visit to a chiropractor is because they have pain and they don’t want to continue to take NSAIDS or medicine to treat issues such as migraines, headaches, low back pain, hip pain, shoulder pain and so on. This alleviation of pain illustrates the value of chiropractic to them and they understand it’s value. For some, they understand the regular care is used as a preventative measure. They understand that normal motion of the spine and its associated joints means that the musculoskeletal and nervous system is functioning properly. Preventing dysfunction rather than waiting for pain to be a sign. In short, it helps to relieve pain and also maintain proper function.

As a chiropractor, what do you strive to accomplish day by day?

“Many people in pain are looking for relief, but they are also looking for hope and positivity. On a daily basis, I strive to educate how we arrived at the situation, what treatment to get out of this situation looks like, and what preventative measures need to be taken to maintain it.

With my patients that I see on a regular basis, I strive to keep them on track. To make sure that they are making healthy decisions and that small issues that may have arisen since the last visit don’t balloon into something larger. I want to be a place that patients look forward to coming and sharing their concerns. A place that feels as though they belong and a place they look forward to going whenever they have questions.”
